Ive heard the klipsch. The AL I havent heard but based on previous experiences with Altec Lansing speakers I really wouldnt recommend them, especially if you use your PC for music. They give a very artificial sound that seems to beef itself up by cutting the midrange. Now that sounds great in most games but for music the entire midrange lacks any definition at all. Like I said I havent heard that particular model but every other AL speaker Ive heard has had that problem.
Oh and a quick edit...
I wouldn't even consider spending ~$150 on a set of speakers unless I'd heard them both myself.

why would the AL 621 be 150-160???...i got the 641 for a friends bday (cuz he liked the way it looks) for 160 shipped to the door...and but i would definitely pick the klipsch 2.1 over that...just overall so much better...the AL can hit some pretty high notes though

Does anyone out there have an opinion on these two similarly priced and spec'd systems? *Thank you.

You should be able to goto best buy or somewhere similar and tryout the Klipsch's for sure and probably the AL's too. Far as I'm concerned, Klipsch's are the best PC speakers for the money.
