Altec Lansing VS3251 not working.

Hey, I'm new in here, but i'm gonna stay here for long
Now i was searching on google for tips to make all 5 speakers work cause out of 5.1 only 2 are active at the moment, which means when i push 5.1 button on remote rear speakers are activated and ster/surr is pushed woofer is activated along with Front R/L ( rear speakers goes VAMOOSE! )
I do not have sound card and i'm using Windows 7.
I also tried replugging the wires back into respective slots properly, re-installed sound drivers, but was of no help.
P.S - The speakers worked for a while couple of months back.
Please i need your advise, this thing is getting on my nerves ( BTW do we get remote cause i'm sure its soon gonna split like a Banana )
