New system cooling advice.
Hey guys building my first decently priced system. My 4th build over all. Was just wondering if i could get some advice on cooling. Its the only thing I'm worried about. I have never built anything that needs a mid to high level cooling. Here are the main pieces of my system.
Asus P5N72-T Motherboard Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 Processor OCZ SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel 4096MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory CoolerMaster CM690 ATX Mid-Tower Case EVGA GeForce 9500 GT Video Card - 1GB DDR2 OCZ 600W StealthXStream Power Supply Sorry for all the links but i figured it was important to know what type of cooling i need. I sadly don't wan to to go water cooled, to scary for me. I did see a small radiator that just attaches to just a single component. So just suggestions on what level of cooling i need or if there's anything in this build that doesn't work that i'm over looking please feel free to point it out. Any favorite case or cpu coolers. Any extra things like HD, video card or memory coolers? things like that. Thanks a million guys Last edited by Dngrsone : September 8th, 2009 at 09:28 AM. |

Hey Again Blade
The only things I would change would be the Ram and Videocard...just for future proofing Check THIS PAGE is has some higher clocking ram for the same price. I would personally get a better videocard...thats if its in your buget...Something along the line of a Nvidia GTX250 or an ATI 4750. Then again depends what resolution you play games at and what size monitor you have. If you can try to stay with brands like EVGA/BFG/XFX they all have lifetime warranties...JMO One other thing...your CPU cooler...I would go for an aftermarket cooler. A FEW CHEAP ONES...HERE Don't Forget To Buy Some ArcticSilver5 Thermal Compound |

We aim to please, Blade.* ![]() I second PaPa's recommendation for Arctic Silver 5-- it's the best thermal transfer paste out there, as long as you use it correctly. ![]() * Okay, we really aim for the head. But aiming to please is good, too. |
