Connecting CPU fan/heatsink to chassis/extra fan connector?
If my mobo has a 4 pin connector for the CPU-fan... can I just plug it into a normal 3 pin fan connector? Will it still be able to alter the speed according to load?

Ya, the fan will work, but it won't control it nor will it recognize it as the cpu fan.

Okay thanks!
![]() But you can use a 3-pin to 4-pin adapter to make it work in the 4-pin CPU connector, right? |
