Case/CPU Fan Cooling
I am looking to replace a few fans in my case. This is the first time I am ever going to replace a fan since this is also the first computer I have ever built. Looking to replace the 90mm case fan and the heatsink.
Right now, my computer is always between 60-70 degrees celcius. I am looking to bring the temperature down a bit. Currently using: ThermalTake Tsunami Dream Mid-Tower Case Intel C2D E6600 processor at 2.4GHz BFG GeForce 7900GS I am looking for a new heatsink for the processor since I am currently using the heatsink that came with the processor. Right now, I am thinking of getting the Masscool 8W553 Socket 775 Aluminum Heatsink. I am also looking for a new 90mm fan to replace the case fan on the side of my case. Unfortunately I do not know what the model of the fan is, but I do know it is a ThermalTake fan. The fan I am currently looking at is a Masscool 90mm Ball Bearing Case Cooling Fan. Price is not a problem, but I am preferably looking for a cheap fan/heatsink that will work pretty good. |

That is running quite hot, is that under a heavy load? Tbh the only real difference to CPU temp will be changing the heatsink and processor fan, Casefans tend to keep the case ambient temp down but wont make a huge differnce. Just a thought but when you put in the current heat sink did you use any paste? Saying that though it usually comes pre-applied. But is always something to try! As for the new heatsink that should certainly do the trick, atleast will be alot better than a stock heatsink! Niall |

I would recommend the Freezer 7 Pro, as I have the AM2 socket version and it performs wonderfully.

yep, like i said, the 64 pro version is working great on my 5000+ BE OCed to 3.2-3.3GHZ with almost no increase in temp.
