Windows XP SP3 will not be released today April 29 as originally planned. A compatibility issue between Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System (RMS) and Windows XP SP3 was found. When this is worked out Windows XP SP3 will be available for download.
Note: this glitch also affects the deployment of Windows Vista SP1. This means that Microsoft is telling people to hold off on deploying both Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista SP1 until this is resolved.

I already downloaded SP3 from MSDN but did not post the link to it there because MSDN is a paid service. I will try to post the public link when Microsoft releases SP3 to the general public.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 has finally been released to the public.
Most people can get it through the normal Windows XP automatic update process. For offline installation you can download the full install file: Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers Download WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe (316.4 MB) (331,805,736 bytes) Note: If you have multiple computers you might want to extract the contents of the download file ahead of time and burn the contents to a CD. From the command prompt enter this command: D:\temp> WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe -x After you have the contents extracted you can run the "Windows XP Service 3" update with the command: i386\update\update.exe Update: I just found another link: Windows XP Service Pack 3 - ISO-9660 CD Image File xpsp3_5512.080413-2113_usa_x86fre_spcd.iso (544.9 MB) Last edited by MisterEd : May 7th, 2008 at 11:25 PM.
