Rapid fire posting at the moment but...
I was trying to install Windows 8 on my cousins new PC from a 'custom' build site
So put the DVD in and started the installation and then when choosing where to locate Windows - it cant find the hard drive.
I have tried loading suggested drivers where it says "load drivers" but these were only for windows 7 (and cant find windows 8 versions online) [additionally I had to un-check the box "hide un-compatible drivers" to see any at all] which didn't improve the situation.
While attempting to load the Windows 7 drivers the HDD light flashes on making me think it is plugged in correctly and not a lose connection ( "...caused during transit" as their tech support suggested...)
I am tempted to pull it out of the machine and test it here, but that is a last resort encase he wants to send it back.
I have loaded windows onto countless of my homebuild machines and never come across a disk not being found and
am sure its almost impossible to solve this one without the machine in front of you, but any similar experiences or suggestions will be much appreciated...
