WinXP - Touchpad in XP
i have an old style laptop circa 98 doesn't have an off button for the touch pad. main thing i want to know is there any way of disabling the click on the touchpad it self with out disabling the click from the button. it gets annoying when I'm typing and I'm suddenly in a new spot because my thumb accidentally touched it.
i'd use a mouse but theirs no usb port or PS/2 port for one. so i'm stuck with the touch pad. |

it may be possible to disable it via the BIOS, do you know how to get there?
edit: though to turn it back on you'd have ot restart the PC. You'd need a mouse for that solution. |

yes i know how to get to the bios but it has nothing for the touch pad in it. only power management and boot settings very basic stuff. i don't want to disable the mouse just the ability to click when you double tap the touch pad it self, it has two buttons for left and right click i wish to use those. if there is no way to do this, I'll just have to deal with it or find someway of getting a mouse on it, maybe a dock pad i can use.

i have seen users take a piece of cardboard and put it on the touchpad when they didnt want to use it, maybe that would work
