It's in sleep mode and wont wake up

Hello,
I have a couple year old Sony VAIO Desk Top running Win. XP. The Computer was in "sleep mode" and our power went out. Now that the power has been restored the computer will not come out of sleep mode. I do have a surge protector power strip that all my power cord are plugged into. This happened one time before and I was able to bring it back by pressing Ctrl & F7 and it came back up. This time nothing.
