Seriously do not install Windows 98 or ME. They have reached end-of-life, to the point where new security patches are no longer created, even for critical vulnerabilities. You're asking for pain on those systems.
I'm normally a windows guy, but when cannibalizing old hardware like that you're really better off going to a linux-based system. |

I like linux but if you are certain u want to go with windows, either use windows 2000(windows NT 5.0) or windows XP (NT 5.1). ME does crash a lot as my p3 550Mhz proved. i do like 2k tho, its basically xp without the gui, of course more features are missing too so dont blame me if u dont like 2k, i use it coz it's fast and stable on my p2 (400mhz)
