Hi Guys
I have had a few blue screens recently during game play only and the error is mostly 'IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL'. I have changed the HD. Reinstalled XP a couple of times now. Installed latest graphics and sound drivers but still getting blue screens in games. Sometimes I can play for 2 hours, other times 5 minutes. I had a bit of a look on Google and I have read about IRQ conflicts. I have checked my system and there are a few devices sharing the same channels.
IRQ 9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System OK
IRQ 16 NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT OK
IRQ 16 VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller OK
IRQ 16 OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller OK
IRQ 17 Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller OK
IRQ 18 VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller OK
IRQ 19 Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (WDM) OK
IRQ 20 VIA SATA RAID Controller OK
IRQ 14 Primary IDE Channel OK
IRQ 15 Secondary IDE Channel OK
IRQ 21 VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 21 VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 21 VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 21 VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 21 Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller OK
IRQ 0 System timer OK
IRQ 8 System CMOS/real time clock OK
IRQ 1 Easy Internet Keyboard OK
IRQ 13 Numeric data processor OK
IRQ 6 Standard floppy disk controller OK
As you can see there are a few things sharing with the graphics card. Is this my problem and how can I resolve the issue please. I think there is a separate Firewire card in the PC which I do not use. I only need 1 fire wire port and can use the fire wire port on the sound card for my video camera. Would removing this card help.

Hello
I have tried SP2 and that has caused other non gaming related problems. I meant in my post that my version of SP1 is up to date. There is not 1 particular game that is the problem. It is fairly consistant with Call Of Duty 2, Unreal Tournament 2004 and Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2.
The annoying thing is that the pc is 18 months old and all was fine up until Xmas 2005. Since then Blue Screens.

No problem. Typically, resolving this type of problem comes down to removing all hardware then replacing it one at a time until the error occurs. Then you know where the problem lies. It's been my experience that drivers are more common than resource conflicts for producing this error.
