Which card??

Hi all

I think my graphics card is dying on me so I'm looking into buying a new one and am hoping to get some recommendations.

My current set up is AMD athlon 64 dual core 4200+, Asus M2N4-SLI motherboard, 3gb, 700w PSU and am running Vista

I've currently got a GeForce 7900 GT/GTO and mainly use the pc for playing games so am looking for a fairly decent one that will be able to handle new games that are coming out.

Any suggestions or do you think I should just get another one the same as I already have?

Many thanks

Since your computer is not what's the newest on the market, there is no need to buy an extreme videocard. A midrange Nvidia or ATi card will be more than enough these days.

I would look at the HD4850 from ATi/AMD or the 9800GT. They can be had for fairly cheap these days and a great performers.

If you can wait a day or two I was reading a review on the Nvidia GTX 250...its a little better than a 9800GTX (kinda re-tagged 9800GTX)/ATI 4750 but not as good as the GTX 260...The supposed price is between $125-$149 US $$$$.
And being that a lot of games don't rely on SLI I would go for a one card sytem myself
Then maybe you can help us fight disease by folding for Dev

Too bad it FOLDS like a POS

When I weigh the Pro's and Con's for a Videocard...I'll take 4-5 FPS drop when I know it's Folding 3x's Faster.
When ATI kicks it up a notch or 2 then I'll go ATI
Sorry to get off track...but if I can bring in another folder for the Team...It's All Good
