The model of my motherboard is P5SD2-VM.. I don't really know how to check if I'm using PCI or PCI-E 16x. 15.7" monitor 500W PSU (Power Supply). 512MB RAM now I'm using SiS. all the latest games if possible. |

I'd have said with the power of the other components in your system, you will struggle to run any recent games.
I would definitely consider upgrading everything else, because that motherboard really could do with some more up-to-date components to go with it. (unless you can be more specific about the things you currently have)

Agree with above (mostly). Your a little shy with your memory, even for Win XP. Best to have 2Gb minimum. Your PSU might be ok, depending on make/model and also which graphics card you eventually buy. Your monitor could also be doing with upgrading. If you want the best out of your games then 19" minimum is what you should be looking at. As for graphics cards, it depends on your budget!

One thing not mentioned is your Power Supply ...is it a brand name or generic...it might not handle your upgrades
And yes you need 2GB of ram nowdays A nice 9800GT($150) or a 9800GTX ($200) would handle pretty much any game out there. Then again what CPU do you have...if it is a lower end CPU say an E4400@2.0Ghz it won't play as good as an E8400 3.0Ghz CPU

A 9800GTX+ or 260GTX Core 216 ought to do fine on a 500watt PSU, assuming you have 2-6 pin PCI-E connectors for a 260GTX.
9800GTX+ only needs 1-6pin PCI-E

With your setup a monitor size, I say a 9800GT would be enough if you want a bit more power then the 9800GTX+
But it won't matter much since you're not playing at a big resolution so the 9800GT should be enough |
