Nvidia GeForce GTX 295

Hi.
I might buy a new video card though I am not sure if it will work with my computer's motherboard/PSU. I am thinking to buy a Nvidia GeForce GTX 295. This card needs a power supply coming from the PSU but i don't think I have the power cords for it.

My motherboards model number is: "P965 Neo(MS-7235) Series".
My PSU model number is: "ATX-430WA".

Some of the system requirements for the graphics card says: "680W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 46A or more"
What does all that mean?

Plus it says: "One 8-pin and one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector -or- Two 6-pin PCI Express and two 4-pin peripheral supplementary power connectors"
I don't think I have those spare cords.

The graphics card will work fine with the motherboard but I don't think so with my PSU.
Do I have to buy a new better PSU?
Please tell me what I should do.

Thanks.
Tom.

You will definitely need a new power supply to support that card. Check out the stickies in our Power Supplies forum.

I own a 295 GTX, you will definately need a new PSU for the 295.

It's NOT about the connections, the 6-pin and 8-pin - It comes with a molex to 6-pin PCI and molex to 8-pin connector. It's simply about power:

Go look at the power requirements:

Quote:
680W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 46A or more

From Newegg:

What's so difficult to understand, you have a 430 watt PSU and the requirements call for a 680 watt PSU.

Lol,

Yea, a 1200 watt PSU will be more than enough. I'm using a coolermaster 750Watt PSU. Unless you plan to run quad SLI or have other mass amounts of power consuming equipment, you may want to consider something cheaper. That is, unless you don't have a problem spending 1/2 the price of the GTX on a PSU.
