I have heard that people who are a member of the guru3d fourms claim that they flashed their 5900xt to a 5950ultra with out a problem. But I wouldnt suggest on trying it.

Before you try flashing the Bios look at the core the cooling and the ram, 5200 to 5200
ultra is not possible, you would have to volt mod the core and then the ram (most likely 4 ns
would burn up.

Hmm clicked the link for NVflash and got an internal server error. maybe out of date or just me but if it's not just me here is a link to it that will work.

Yeah so I was lazy and didn't bother to make it into a link, so what?

Is it safe to flash? I agree with carnivore on that one. It's not safe to flash any card, there is always a chance of corrupt bios. But if your looking for some thoughts and suggestions, i would suggest that you be happy with that core clock as it's much higher than the 6800Ultra. I think if you want more fps you need to oc the memory clock. Get memory sinks (maybe water cooling?) and then up the memory speeds some. It is hard to believe that's an nVidia card with the core so high for a 5900.

i dun think cooling is a problem.... the most ive ever OCd it was 500/800(with powerstrip) and it didnt heat up at all... i went back to coolbit and the most it lets me take it to is 451/735 (stock is 400/700). fps wise im fine cuz the only games i play are counter-strike and ut2004 and i average 180fps. but when it comes to HL2 i only average 30-40. so your saying lower my core and increase my memory clock?

Sorry I know this sounds stupid and has been asked before, but...

I have a NVIDIA GeForce FX5200, 128 mb memory, AGP 8x.
Can I flash this bios to make it better or not?
If I can, will it make it so the card gets more voltage so that I can OC more, because the highest I can get is 310/460. Cooling is not too much of a problem, I have a 80mm PCI fan right under the chipset, so it stays relatively cool

Thanks for all your help,
Sean

btw, srry if im digging up an old sticky, i never look at dates
