Glitchy Nvidia 8400 GeForce GS

I'm having a problem with my Nvidia card...

You see, whenever I try to play a game (I already posted this in the games section) it crashes, and here's what happens. When it crashes, it usually repeats the sound that occourred in the last 3 seconds of gameplay or so, then I have to reset my computer.

My specs are:
Processor: AMD Athlon 6000+ Dual Core
Video Card: Nvidia 8400 GeForce GS
OS: Windows XP
2.00 Gigs of RAM

I've tried this method, but it didn't work for me. http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=45651

Thats sad, a 3ghz 6000+ paired with a 8400GS
The 8400GS is strapped to a 64bit memory buss and isn't that good for 3D frame rate gaming of any kind.

Your problem sounds like a driver issue to me.
I always run the latest forceware drivers from guru3d,com and I wouldn't game on anything less than an 8800GT 512meg now anyway.

I've updated with this driver: http://downloads.guru3d.com/ForceWare-174.93-XP-(32-bit)-download-1901.html
**edit**
yeah, it's the right driver. and yet i still have problems?
it might be my sound card... but i can't figure out how to find out what your sound card is.
