Driver problem with Nvidia 9800GTX

So since the new drivers (that don't require reboot after install) have been released, I've been experiencing some problems with my graphics card (or should I just say the drivers?;P).

Anyway, after I've installed the driver (currently 186.18) which is compatible with my graphics card, I go to Aquamark 3 to see if I get a boost or not. Problem is that I find out that it's acting extremely bad. I get a 75 framerate in the beginning of AQ3, where I normally should get around 150 fps. Also, after installing the drivers, I get this message in the task bar saying something along the lines of "There was a problem encountered after installation, your component may not function properly".

The only driver that I've tried so far that actually works is the driver I get in my graphics card cd (which is really old right now).

So does anyone know what the problem might be?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hey, I'm running 185.85, which is the latest I found on nVidia's website. I'm running Win7 RC1 x64 which is probably why it's not the latest, however, I assume it's probably more stable than 186, so maybe you can try that version for now?

Gotta agree with Drumz on this one!!!
New Drivers don't always mean the best drivers.
I myself am using the 185.66 Beta's and they work great for my 8800's

Actually the 185's don't work either. I just tried the 180.48, and that one works just fine.

I guess I'll keep searching for the ideal driver.

I remember that I used to have a favourite driver around the 180's, but I forgot which one it was>:C
