I would suggest you buy a new PSU.

While the 240w may be enough power (although under a full load it will be awfully close) you will be putting the PSU under a great load. Also being a 240w PSU I'm going to assume that it is quite old, and due to it's age and capacitor aging, it is not going to be able to put out the 240w like it used it.

Apparently there were problems with Nvidia's PSU requirements and a site recommended the 650W PSU, like I use with my 2.4ghz P4 with a 7600GT. In darkstar(my main modded pc apart from the q6600) I use an ATI Radeon X1650 Pro with a 350W PSU. Works fine and on the highest settings at 1280X1024 online in Half Life 2 Deathmatch, I get an average of 60FPS. When Darkstar is in a good mood it gives me an average of 70FPS. Yummy!

500 watt PSU's should be the defacto standard nowadays for what ever your using on any standard desktop!!
Comments on this post
bball4ever39 agrees: Ya, they tend to be newer, and thus more efficient. They tend to be about as cheap as lower power
PSU's as well.
