Best video card for crysis (Very high settings)

Crysis is very slow when I run it, im looking to upgrade my video card with dx 10. what would be the best for all settings on very high with a decent frame rate, and that doesnt freeze. I was looking at the Nvidia's 8800 ultra. but then I heard about the heating issues where people were complaining that the idle running of the card produced a 70 C, any help please? Im looking for somthing under 700$ for the best card.

Here are my stats if you need them:

Processor : AMD Phenom 9500 @ 2200 MHz

Physical Memory : 2048 MB

Video Card : Nvidia Corp GeForce 8500 GT

Would suggest you look at the HD3870x2 cards.

2 of these in crossfire mode would likely make Crysis run pretty darn smooth
But bball4ever39 below is right that 1 x2 card would probably be enough to run it pretty good

A single x2 should be able to handle crysis no problem.

Crysis doesn't scale all that well with muliple gpu's. So the performance gap between theoretical increase and actual in game performance increase running 4 gpu's would be rather large. And not worth the much larger price tag.
