^ can only mean good.
and do you know what's better??
effectively it produces no waste either (however it depends on how efficient they can get it...). but still this is what most scientist had dreamt to get from nuclear fission, they just neglected to mention the fact that it relied on producing an equal amount of dangerous crap once they'd gotten the energy.
if this thing works, it'l be like having a star on earth!

In a hundred years, maybe less, that just might be common...and with the other news story I saw here recently (about being able to freeze dogs and then unfreeze them three hours later with no damage), we might be around to see that.

maybe, but i dont think id ant to be chrio frozen myself... maybe add a hundred or so years onto my life through organ replacement and stem cell regeneration, but not miss out on an entire section of history. way too much to miss, think what will happen in the next 25 years if technology continues at it's current rate of advancement... i wanna be around to see and make it happen, not skip it and just get the end result.

Wow, that is amazing. I'm living in France now too It'll be interesting to see how clean we can get the world in the next 50 years. Is it possible that these past 100 years will all simply be bad memories of polution? Could it just have been a rough patch in our lack of refinement of energy-production processes? It would be cool to see our planet get cleaned up all the while having increasing needs for energy and an increasing population.

Well, the idea behind it wasn't so much cryonic suspension for long periods as, for example, if someone was suffering a gunshot wound, freeze them, repair the damage (taking your time since you don't have to worry about your patient dying on you), then unfreeze them. This kind of thing could greatly extend lifespans, because all of a sudden lots of things that weren't possible before become possible.

well in that case im all for it. now that you put it like that it makes sense... wow.
but i still wouldn't like to miss out for long stints. like a coma. i decided a wile ago that if i was pronounced brain dead i wouldn't like to be kept alive. as soon as im old enough to have a will that'll be the first thing in it.

Fusion cannot be used as a weapon, and is not harmful. It is much safer because it is two hydrogen atoms H+H coming together H2. Where as essentially, fission, is the explosion of larger atoms to produce energy.

Nuclear power is not the only way forward. Research perpetual motion devices and people like Nikola Tesla. Try those devices, that produce massively infinite amounts of energy. And having a star on earth (although I do greatly support fusion as a replacement to all other types of energy) just sounds...dodgy. now we just have to find a way to transmit electricity through the air without causing cancer.
