I'm sorry about that; you got me fair and square there. The only thing I can say in my defense is that, at the time I wrote that story, I hadn't spotted any stories indicating that Browzar was adware. (In fact, the deadline for Tech News was unusually tight last week because of Labor Day and my vacation). If I had, believe me, Browzar would have received the criticism it richly deserved.

Meh... the whole ad-ware thing is blown way out of proportion too. DevNews is better off for not joining in the rumor and misinformation chain game...

and archnaid, i know that it ONLY links it's searches to paid adverts, just like all other search engines do. but the point is that the browser does this by default, not as an option. also you could have made the joke about people being too lazy to just delete the files themselves (after all, Browzar is actually just a wrapper for IE that auto-deletes everything and adds the searches). |

lol yeah; and like I said, I probably would have if the deadline hadn't been quite so tight this time and I'd seen stuff about it being adware. (Yeah, I know, you're talking about people being too lazy to delete themselves as being a good target too, but hey, I don't delete my files more often than once a week either). ![]() |

IE lacks(to my knowledge IE 7 also lacks) such features. browzar is not a browser, it is basicaly en extention to IE. web browser indeed . |
