Your article? Owwww, *goes to find*
And I think it is a great move, I just hope it takes them both in the right direction, and does not take them backwards...

Exactly, this could really help them or really hurt them. I just think its kind of funny because it seems like lately intel has been going more ati as well. Like think about on their conroe boards, intel had said they won't release chipsets to support sli, there are 3rd parties who are but they aren't, while they do support crossfire.

Intel has no love for ATI. ATI just filled a temporary void in their product line. When Intel doesn't need them anymore they will be discarded. Even with Conroe Intel hardly mention crossfire since they want to emphasize Intel only products. With AMD's purchase of ATI, Nvidia may rethink its exclusion of SLI from the Intel platfrom. There is no guarantee that Intel is interested. Even if they did Nvidia would be discarded eventually like Intel is going to do with ATI. AMD's purchase of ATI is supposed to be logical since some think that the GPU will eventually be incorporated into CPU core. Intel aleady has the inhouse expertise to make this happen. Now so does AMD. A lot of people may have thought that a AMD/Nvidia merger would have been more logical. Unfortunately Nvidia would have been too costly to acquire.
