Gotta admit tho..until we have the ability to run quad sli setups...the Renegade and ALX systems are interesting to keep in mind. Last edited by ManaVampire : March 10th, 2006 at 12:00 AM. |

Sony Vaio is a laptop. You can't make your own laptops and there are certain features exclusive to Sony's laptop. You have less options and you end up buying one of them.
But alienware!! It is so fucking expensive..and desktop is something you can build on your own. It is needed that we get rid of brand names of the final products... |

I wholesomely hate the branded final products. Be it laptops or desktops or a software for which you pay and then cannot tweak yourself. But that's for different thread.

Wow. That's going to be a great competition
![]() I sold 14 4000$ computers. How many did you sell? Honestly, there is no point in more than 2 graphics cards. You could get a theoretical maximum gain of 50% in terms of performance for adding a second card to a single-card setup. Next one you add can only increase performance by 33% at the same cost, and the fourth a mere 25% for full cost. It gets more and more expensive for minute increases in performance. Not only that, but lately the next-gen cards have been doubling in performance, so if you get for cards, two new ones should do the same. Oh, and who wants to turn the computer on and then have the lights dim due to the 1000+ watts of power being drawn... Don't leave that thing on 24/7. lol EDIT: OMFG They have to be kidding me. That system costs over 6k with it's base setup and it has NO MONITOR and INTEGRATED SOUND. WTF? The highest cost is around 17k, which can buy you a brand new Ford Mustang GT. Hmmm... Mustang that will last me forever, computer that will be good for a couple of years. Bet you they cost about the same to keep running, too ![]()
