Multiple computers, yes, if he has them available.

Blitz, are you behind a router or what?

Yeah, I'm behind a 2wire router. Using it wireless.

Does your router have DHCP?

If you look at your router, most of them you can connect to using a java-enabled web browser by typing 192.168.0.1 into the address bar, does it show connected computers and leased IP's?

No. Do you know what causes this problem though, such as spywares?

Well, if your router doesn't have DHCP enabled, it can't assign an IP automagically.

Just so we're clear: is DHCP enabled if you look at the router config?

How to download

I can't get any connection. How do I download the fix? Download on another persons computer and put it on disc? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am not a tech savy person.
Thanks

Thanks! I never even thought about a thumb drive. I guess that's why I'm a photographer and not a computer tech! ;b

Angry Need Heeeeelllppp

Let me tell you. I just recentely have to update my windows SP2. I got Cablemodem but cant go online. I´ve been trying anything i could find on internet but dont know what else to do. So i would like to start over from zero and go step by step and see if i can fix this. When i connect my cable to my laptop if i leave ip automatic it seems is connected ( at least is the message i am getting ) but it gets stuck saying "acquiring network address" or other times "limited or no connectivity". If I put my addresses and all that info manually, it says is connected but doesnt me open any internet pages or open anything related to be online. Apparentely local area connection is connected, but can someone tell me why is not openning my pages and stuff? I tried renewing my ip but i am getting this message now saying RPC is unavailable,,,,I am guessing internet connection is working fine coz when i plug the cables to my old laptop, that one is working fine. Please Help me!!! I would like to know what is the first thing i should try to do, going step by step coz i am going crazy!! Thanks guys...

are youconnecting directly to your cable modem or to a router? if you're connecting to your cable modem, try turning it off and unplugging the laptop. then turn the cable modem back on. turn the laptop back on. then connect the laptop to the cable modem. i've had this problem with some motorola cable modems.
