How can I mask or temporarily change my IP address?
One time a spammer got ahold of my IP address and gave it to all his buddies. Then I started getting, like, litteraly a full mailbox, like they were filling up my entire 250 mb with spam and trojans. I tried desparately to block them, but they always used differtent email addresses and IP addresses. I ended up having to call the customer support for my ISP and they "renewed" my account, so that my IP isn't in the same range.
My issue is, that I don't want this to happen again.
I don't know a whole lot about computers, so if anyone has any sugestions on how to orevent spammers from getting hold of my IP address or my email... or just any general security sugestions other than Firewall, Anti-Virus, and Anti-Spyware programs (I already have a program for these things) I would really appreciate it

if you don't want spammer to get ahold of your email, then don't give it to them. I would recommend go get a hotmail or yahoo account, and use that as your spam box.

Connect through a router that support NAT (Natural Address Translation). This acts as a natural firewalls by masking your true IP address. There are other methods, but this is probably the easiest. Most of the time it requires no setup.

Don't give your email address out... the IP doesn't generally mean squat; if someone wants it, then they will get it. What the spammers want and need is a valid email address to send to-- don't put you address out for the world to see, every time you put a@b.net, a bot will find it.
If you need to list it, then mask it like this-- a(a)b.net or a (at) b dot net or some such similar.
Use an internet email address, or a disposable, one-shot address when you have to have an address to sign up for something. Use an anonymizer service while surfing the web.
