Antenna boosts

Hi all! I live in a 55+ community and they have one main router at the front office. My house is approximately 500 feet away and I cannot connect. Would a Wifi network LAN adapter with antenna work?


Any info or advice would be great--this computer stuff is confusing to an old lady like me--thanks!

Actually, you should ask that they have someone come in and do at least a semi-professional install of a real network there. It isn't all that expensive and if it's an expected part of your rent I'd demand it.

Other than that, I don't think there's TOO much you can do without getting very technical since the real solution would be their responsibility, not yours.

By the way, if this is in the Twin Cities, MN I may be able to provide some installation services on the weekends. ( :

Thanks so much for your response. I will talk with the office when I get there. Unfortunately this place isn't in Minnesota. It's in Florida. I can't wait to get there in January!
