Tv Tuner card with TV out

I just brought a TV Tuner card called "TV@nywhere Plus" by MSI which can be found here: msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=TV@nywhere_Plus&class=vga because I needed a card that supports TV out. The guy who sold me this said it supported TV out but when I installed it into my computer along with the software, there were no options in the software that makes my PC visible on my TV. It only had options to capture video from the TV into my PC. I've tried using s-video and also composite video connectors but no luck. Can somebody please verify with me that this card has TV out support? If so how would I go about of doing it.

If you look at the specs you see: "Video Input - TV Input - 75 Ohm (UHF/VHF) TV Antenna, Composite Video, S-Video"
There is no mention of video output at all.

The purpose of cards like this is to watch/record TV on your PC.
There is no reason for them to have TV out. There may be some cards with TV out but none of the ones I have seen have it.

There are many regular video cards that have a TV output. If you really want to see your desktop on a TV you will have to get one of these. The problem is that unless you have a video card designed to be used with a TV monitor and a good TV monitor then you will probably be disappointed with the results.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll have to go return it then and buy myself a new video card with TV out as I need one anyways.

You are right. TV output to anything less than HDTV will probably be disappointing.

Even if you have a HDTV you still need to make sure that the video card can output HDTV resolutions. Not all video cards support HDTV resolutions. You need to check the specs.

For example...If your HDTV is 720p then the video card must support at least that. If the HDTV is 1080i/p then the video card must support at least 720p with 1080i/p being better.
