Surround sound system not working

My Logitech 5.1 surround sound system worked when I first set it up. Since then I've reinstalled windows but not altered anything else.

Now there is no sound coming out of the speakers even though I can hear them hum. I can get sound if I plug the microphone into my pc but If I plug the microphone into the subwoofer I get nothing but the light comes on to show the subwoofer is on. All the cables are still plugged in the same way and I have reinstalled the sound driver.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

I know it sounds dumb, but are you sure your computer volume is up, and not muted? And the same for your speaker volume? Could the speakers be set to some kind of AUX setting or something?

If that's all good, it sounds like a bad cable to me, no pun intended.
