Recording Software for a Band
i was hired by a band to do their technical work, ive had experience with mixing boards and recording before, but they only have a laptop with sony acid studio. I've never done mixing on that before only on programs like fruity loops and some hardware mixing.
what im looking for, is what kind of software should i get for recording, as the acid studio doesn't do multichannel recording and its awkward. i know to get audacity and kristal but any other suggestions? plugins for either? tutorials? any info on this would be helpful, otherwise id be a shitty manager.

what's your budget? maybe cakewalk sonar would work. it comes recommended by a friend of mine.

Pro Tools by digidesign. It's like a hardware/software suite? I dunno, I never produced music, but I remember when my friend bought a Mbox he got a trial to the software.
