My TV Tuner has a prob

Okay, I work at a company that sells off-lease computers. I came across a TV Tuner, and my boss let me have it. Anyways...

it is a sbt-tvfm

would post url but i cant because i am a new user, google it, and click on the first link

I have tried 3 different types of software:
Nero8
Windows Movie Maker
And one other that I cant remember

All of them scanned and found channels, but the channels were blank

So, I scanned again without it plugged in to the cable, and it still "Found" the channels

So, could it be because I have it split off of the cable line going to the cable box (maybe that line only broadcasts on a super-high frequency level)

Any ideas?

UPDATE:

I tried it in vista (I had been in xp before)

I successfully get video in vista, but no audio

Still nothing in xp

Did you install the software from here?

As far as no sound did you use an audio cable to connect the A-out on the sbt-tvfm card to the audio input on your sound card?
