Unhappy InterVideo MSI PVS problem on Nvidia FX5200

I installed MSI Nvidia FX5200 128MB VGA card with TV tuner and FM radio. After installing the capture devices and drivers, I installed the InterVideo MSI Cinema Manager. When I try to launch the program, it reboots my computer and I cannot use the software to start the video playback or tune in to the cable /Antenna TV? What could be the problem and please advice solution.

KT3Ultra 6380 Main board with AGP 4x slot
512 MB system RAM
WinXP Pro
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum Internal

Exclamation Ditto

I just built a system with the same card and that program reboots mine as well. I wonder if there is an alternate program that will work with it to run the TV input. I am going to look around and see what I can find. If you solve the problem before me I'd appreciate it if you could tell me how you did it and I will do the same if I can get it fixed.

Unhappy More info

I have isolated the problem to two of the device drivers for the card:
MSI8928 nVidia WDM TVTuner
MSI8928 NVidia WDM TVAudio Crossbar
Disabling them allowed me to run the program without it forcing a restart but obviously it wont recieve any input without the devices operating

I was able to update the other two device drivers:
nVidia WDM A/V Crossbar
nVidia WDM Video Capture (Universal)
to version 3.0.8.0 but for some reason there were no drivers included for the other two devices. The two I could not update are version 2.16.2.34

Question Same problem (MSI TV5200-VTDF128 & reboot )

I have same problem here, with MSI TV5200-VTDF128.

I installed latest versions of Nvidia Display and WDM / Capture Drivers.

Windows 2000 crashes while scanning or switching TV channels.

Hints, anybody?

Sounds like some sub par software. See if there are any updates online for the software.

Addl Information re Nvidia FX5200

I have problem same problem on xp. Loading 61.77 nvidia got me farther in that no crash running
MSI Media center deluxe II or the intervideo windvr application, but they don't work. One thing I noticed is that it takes a long time for plug and play
to recognize that new drivers are there, before it installs them. I purchased windvr 3 with the following results. I get sound, but no video, and the channels don't seem to be right. I don't know if this is the main problem or secondary problem. I have extensively searched the MSI web site with no luck. MSI support sent me a file of the latest drivers (don't know what version); trying to install gives message ready to uninstall. It doesn't seem to do anything. MSI media center deluxe is a marginal app; not worth looking at. windvr 3 is quite primitive in its design. Of course you can't get to support at msi, only via email. We will see what happens.

I am wondering if I delete the drivers and then reinstall might have some effect.

Smile Problem

If You Still Have The Problem I think You Should Install The NVIDIA WDM Driver Version 2.20
The Problem came When You Install DirectX9b or DirectX9c
You Can Download The Program From Nvidia webSite
http://www.nvidia.com/object/wdm_winxp-2k-Me-98se_2.20

I bought this card at amazon and to put this card working was a lot difficult (while you don't know how to do it). I tried it on WinXP Pro SP2, WinXP Media Center SP2 and it didn't work, the drivers that are inside of the box are outdated. This card works fine in WinME with the drivers on the box.

I could make it work on WinXP SP2 but the TV Tuner does not function. You need the display Driver and the WDM driver available on nvidia's website. the TV Tuner driver makes the PC reboot (that's why any software that uses the TV capture makes crash the PC). And as long as the TV didn't work i had an idea to watch TV but it is through a VCR connected to the Composite Input Capture of the card and works excellent, so if you don't have a VCR, install a Dual-boot OS with WinME.

The InterVideo MSIPVS software included works just well, you don't need more. The graphical processing power is excellent.

I bought this card and had tons of problems with it, so I broke down and called MSI Support. The guy was really helpful and emailed me the UPDATED Driver 8928DRV3.03.2.36 and it worked like a charm.

The only reason I am here now is because I had to reformat and can't find the MSIPVS Software for the tv and radio.

You've got mail, and the subject line is "TV5200-VTDF128 Drivers" in case it goes to your bulk mail folder. It's a 1 MB Zip File.

By the way, you'll have two emails. I forgot to add the file to the first one....lol.

I just uploaded the updated driver file (zipped) to my server. You can download it here:

http://www.dewaynegore.com/8928Drv3032.zip

I got the file directly from their tech support via email, and it worked great and solved the reboot problem for me. It's like 1.23 meg, so it might take a minute or two if you have dialup, but broadband should download it pretty quick. Let me know when you get it, because I don't want to leave it stored there long-term.
