Strange Audio Issue With MoBo

I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section or even Message Board (as this may not be a hardware issue) but a few years back I had a lot of help with a GPU issue from here and so naturally it's the first place I came back to.

My system

P5KC Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0
9800GTX
4Gig OCZ RAM
Antec Nine Hundred Case

I state the "case" (pun not intended) because its got 2 connectors to the MoBo for the front panel: AC'97 and HDAudio(this I'v never seen before) to choose from. Originally I wasn't sure witch one to put and I thought I had put the wrong one with the wrong driver or something like that. Now I realize that I don't even have the audio jack connected to the panel but right into the back of the MoBo so it shouldn't even be an issue witch connector I put, but incase your wondering I chose the HD at first as my MoBo manual recommended it and is compatible with. After some driver installation and uninstallation and switching from AC'97 Jack to the HD one and back(witch was pointless cause speakers aren't even plugged into the front panel) I was once again back to the HD jack.

And I just noticed I haven't even said the issue... hopefully your still with me and aren't bored with the rambling or I might have to post a better thread.

Ok so the problem is with audio(obviously), at first I have it and it's all good but I loose it as soon as I enter a game. 2 games to be specific: F.E.A.R. and Lost Planet. All other games seem fine. When I loose audio at startup of these games I can't get the audio back...for anything, be it music or another game until I restart windows. And it's not a game issue, I'm pretty sure, as Iv been having a lot of problems with audio and drivers and no recognition issues after window installation wich was only like 2 days ago. Basically I got a good rig for gameing(I think its good anyways) and am having too much trouble with the audio... where it counts; games.

Anyways Thnx in advance and I just hope I get the same Dev Hardware expirience I got last time.

UPDATE
jsut figured something out... everything seems to be running fine with drivers or whatnot problem is my MoBo/Tv.

You see I actually got my pc hooked up to a 47" Vizio through an HDMI cable and I got the sound going in separately through the Audio out Jack in the back. When I take out the tv jack and put oin the regular pc jack the audio works even when the tv audio stops it in a game. And those games mentioned also have audio through pc speakers but not Vizio... Hmmm
