An Abit NF7s 2.0 ?
I just recieved an Abit NF7s rev 2 board yesterday. I will be putting an XP 2200, a sitck of 512k corsair pc 3200, and a GF4 ti4800 onto it. The CpU aint great, couldn't get it over 2 gigs with my previous mobo, but I will stick with it for a month or so to see how far AMD prices drop. The CpU does get hot tho! I've have a volcano 9 on it, which helps but I think I should get an all copper HS.
I was wondering if anyone knows what might be the best I can expect to accomplish when I OC it. Recomended settings or limitations would be welcome.
Thanks

I bet you'll be able to hit 200fsb, maybe with a mult of 11 or so. The limiting factor will be your heatsink, since you can't push the vcore very high with that volcano9. Be sure to get the latest bios updates for it so you're getting correct temp readings.

Poiuy, I think youre taking this HS thing a little too far!
I have a later model 2200, but I'm not to sure about the stepping. It hasn't wanted to go to far in the past. Best I could manage with th A7v8x was 1950, but that could just be beacuse the Pos Hs is about as cool as a nerd in a strip club. I am definatley going to get the mcx462+. Thanks for the tip there Snatch. If I can't get the CPU over 2, I will bprobably break down real soon and get a Barton. Is the 2500 pretty damn OC'able? Or should I look at the 2800,or really layt it down for the 400mhz 3000?
Still havent hooked it all up yet, think I will set it up tomorrow.

Probably not, I've had 2 the first one did 216fsb and the 2nd one did 227fsb had to vmodd both of them to get past 230+. But you might get lucky though.

I use the resistor mod, the pencil mod works but after awhile it will fade manly from fans blowing the pencil trace away. The resistor way is the best and very simple.
