Samsung R505 CPU Compatibility
Hi, I have a NP-R505-FA02UK notebook thats been running the QL-62 AMD Athlon x2 2.0 GHz until recently the fan packed up & caused the CPU to overheat & burn out. I have a exact CPU replacement i purchased which now works fine, however my question is this. What other CPU's will my notebook take?

I presume it has to remain in the QL series & i have found a cheap QL-65. But i thought i would check first before taking the plunge & if anyone has a list of cpu's the notebook will take that would be great as i can benchmark search them to see which is the best one for me.

That model only sold with the QL-62 so there are no clues about other supported processors from higher models.

The technical manual has very limitied specifications regarding chipset so it is not possible to see what processors may be suitable.

The most important will be thermal output and power requirements for the cpu as to what the chassis will support.

Hi, well i took the plunge & its running sweet on a QL-65. I was tempted to go for a higher model, but the price for the 2nd hand cpu was really cheap so i thought why not.
