fine we gathered you just want a machine for general web browsing and messaging so you wont be requiring anything that needs a lot of grpahics power... integrated graphics will suffice then.
what im trying to get at is will you be working away from your desk (or power) much? is weight a factor? how big do you want to get screen wise? Matty

@bob:
yes I will work a lot without AC power. Weight doesn't matter, but I need at least 15,4 screen. @SandMan: Wich Thinkpad model you can recommend? |

where you from uk/usa?
almost all laptops these days are 15.4Inch IBM's or HP's are a good bet, Acer are ok at a pinch but like dells ive had bad experiences and im not about to recommend them. i wouldnt recommend you get anything less than a core2duo laptop, maybe an AMD turion at a push. hp6720s is a good laptop imo 160gb hdd 1gb ram and 2ghz cpu speed do you have a budget? |

I look at this HP... it seems to be great choice for me. Good and quite cheap.
