i have this toshiba qosmio E series laptop and only one key has been giving me problems. It seems that the right arrow key does not work. What can be the problem. Is the lubrication worn out or is it gone bad. Any suggestions. |

Different Keyboard Problem
My Toshiba Satellite has a different keyboard problem... whenever I press the <t> or <i> keys a "ti" is actually typed. This also happens when several other keys are pressed, such as <g> and <,>.
Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas on what's going on or how to fix it? Thanks. |

This is a very good site put up by a fellow devhardware member. It contains guides for opening up Toshiba laptops and replacing its parts and doesn't cost a penny.
Thought it might be helpful.. |

Laptop keyboard issues
Hello folks,
To add to the problems, while I am typing, my keyboard will miss a letter here and there. I usually have to backspace and retype what I missed. Let me show you..."To add to the problems, wile I am typing, my keyboard will missa letter her and there. I usually have to backspace nd retype whatI missed." In this case it even missed the spacebar. I'm not sure if it has to do with the keyboard or memory. I haven't spilled anything in the keyboard. And the laptop (Acer Travelmate 4500) is just a year old. Realtime - I've had ther laptops longer than this and never had a problem with the keyboard. Can someone help me? (ther laptops was actually typed "other laptops"). USB external keyboard works fine. Quote:

Packard Bell keyboard weird happening
Hi all,
Please can someone help?? I recently remotely connected to a friends Packard Bell laptop to help with a situation and since then some of her keys have been all funny. when she type o she gets a 6, i=5, u=4, l=3 and so on on a few more letters. Is there a known reason for this to happen? I have read that plugging in a desktop keyboard hitting the number lock and unplugging it can sort it bit i am miles away from my friend and she does not really understand what i am trying to say. Any help offered on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul |

Laptop Keyboard
Yes all the regional settings are fine, I read that connecting a desktop keyboard to it b4 boot and when booted hitting number lock could sort it out but there is also a surposed key combination that can be pressed to get it back to normal.
Regards n thnx for reply Paul |

ya but most lappies have the keypad into the letter and can be accessed by using the fn key and the letter. At least all the lappies I've seen have that |

replacing cover key
hey guys, my laptop's (hp.dv2000) delete key came off while cleaning. is there a way i can replace it, i mean do we get replacement cover keys specifically. i cannot place it back, you know like fix it where it makes a click sound, because some part of the plastic came of the cover key. the rubber part is still intact so the button is still functioning. but my question is can we get replacement for the cover key?
