Keyboard problems
I've been having problems on my acer laptop keyboard too. The full stop (period) button only works intermittently. You seem to have to hit it at the right angle and if you hold it down it doesn't work continuously. This laptop is only a week old, any ideas?

Yes, it's definitely due to water/liquid intrusion.
Do not operate the keyboard until you can dry it out. Remove the keyboard, disassemble it as much as you can without damaging things, and if you have a compressed air source, use that to blow as much liquid out as you can. If it's anything but water, you may want to try flushing the liquid out with warm water first, then blowing it out. Leave the keyboard out to dry for a good 24 hours or more.

Yes, it is very possible, in fact, highly probable, that you are wrong. You would be a better person if you would just admit that. And I would be less annoyed. ![]() "I like doggies....and apparently dinousaurs, mostly because they eat cats!" --Nilpo |

It seemed to work after a while, however my esc button and my F2 buttons are no longer responding. I did remove keys and in the meantime cleaned out some of my keyboard.
It was a very little amount of water. Thanks for helping. Do you know what I could do bout the ESC and F2 keys? |

Welcome aboard, cosmin.
![]() Your situation is quite interesting. Chances are there's some weird thing going on with your "a" key. On another note, there does NOT exist a Windows Key + anything key combination to launch the default browser. Additionally, neither should CTRL do that. "CTRL + A" selects all in a document and/or window. Therefore, we can't figure out what's wrong wit your "a" key. You need to open up your laptop and find it out yourself. You do not need to take the entire laptop into parts, just take off its front/panel until you can access the keyboard. You may need to unplug the keyboard controller cable/wire that gets plugged into your motherboard from the keyboard. This is for confort so that you can totally take out your keyboard (to figure out what's wrong) rather just struggling with a few centimeters of space (much ovement being restricted by the cable). Chances are something is really screwed up, especially since you mentioned that you have re-installed Windows and tried two different version as well. There's no possible key combination as a shortcut to launch the default browser in either. Good luck.
