M.E.K. on a cotton swab.

Later when Tek asks about green paint this will make sense.

I've been thinking of modding out one of mine for a while now, but I can't think of anything very cool to do since there is next to no room inside. Though I have stripped it apart to swap in a faster motherboard/CPU, swapped the hard disk, keyboard, touch pad, RAM, and all of the chassis. Not really a mod, but since the only original part is the LCD, I think it could be argued .

I want to repaint mine, it already has little flecks of green paint all over it. (Speaking of which, anyone know how to get paint off an LCD? )

It counts as long as it improved the overall laptop.

you could always put a sticker on the back of the LCD, and put in a window so you can see the sticker... add a led and you can see it at night...

could upgrade the cooler in a couple laptops... like my armada... i had to make a shim then thermal adheasive it to my cooler... and a put a window in it, and some vents to let it out...
el wire around the keyboard... it's probably hard to get under the keys but on mine i had alot of room around it... window in the battery, if you dont use the touchpad... you could put a window in...

i got a couple other ideas that arn't pratical...

Tekime: is the paint on the LCD itself, or the plastic housing?

Various: As much as I hate eBay, that's the place to get that kind of part. Otherwise you could have $900+ in a mobo. They're REDIUCULOUSLY expensive. Then again, they do have everything onboard...

Tekime: That sucks bad man . You could try to use paint thinner on the outside, but that could have some undesired effects on the surrounding plastic if you're not super careful, and maybe even if you are. As for the screen itself, that's even worse. I'm not sure of anything that could take that off without wrecking the whole shebang. You might be able to get a replacement LCD off eBay or a parts machine though.

Yeah, I'm not scraping it off.

I don't dare to try anything, I just got this lappy used off a friend for like $300. What sucks even more, LilGator is selling the EXACT same lappy for $250 with a bigger hard drive. *sigh*

I'm not very interested in spending a single cent more fixing it, this is just to scrape by and let me do my development work on the road. Do you think it would be safe to try some Denatured Alcohol?
