Acer aspire 4315-2097

Hey all,

This laptop came with vista, which i don't like. i want to install XP home on it. i heard of other people installing xp on this type of laptop. when i try to install xp home, it loads all the files and then asks me if i want to repair recover or install. i hit enter to install xp but it prompts that there are no hard drives installed in my system. does anybody know why it would say this. as far as i know the hard drive is IDE. the xp home cd i have comes with service pack 2. i installed ubuntu linux on the same laptop and it works fine. any help would be greatly appreciated.
