Upgrading computer
Windows Vista 32Bit
Motherboard P5W DH DELUXE INTEL(R) Core 2 CPU 6420 @2.13GHz, 2316 Mhz ATI Radeon 1600/1650 PRO Silent G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Antec Case and Antec 550W power supply 200GB HD I am looking to put another 2GB of G.Skill into this computer because its so cheap to do and my computer is already really fast... Only thing is... I am looking to get better FPS in games. Right now my main game is WoW and if everything is on high settings I get about 30FPS in the toughest places...My goal is to get that up to about 50-60... How big of an impact will 2 extra GB do to my FPS in games... Should I just plan on getting a video card instead? If so, my motherboard says ATi Radeon on it. Does that mean I should only use ATi cards for it? Oh yeah and can I even use 4GB of memory on Windows 32bit? Thank you |

Thanks I will def look into that.
Hey could you help me out with this? I'm trying to figure out if my computer is using all the memory it can use... I'll post some screenshots of the performance monitor and what not. Let me know if you can't see or if I posted the wrong thing Thanks |

Well looking at that picture and seeing that you have Vista I would say tat it isn't any mistake, that kind of resource is used by Vista. This is too the Aero skin you use, you could try to put on some less shiny skin in order to improve the performance. Also put a screen shoot with the process tab of the Task Manager were I can see what kind of resource(memory) is used by each process. Some higher Res picture could come also handy.
Anyway for a Vista OS that is usual memory usage. ![]() |

sure is normal memory usage.
given you want to play games, vista is hardly the OS you want to use, you should have stuck to XP. in any case, yes, a video card is your best bet at more performance in video games. i'd also update the graphics drivers, newer ones usually have better performance on vista.
