Unknown generic memory?

So I bought some memory that was supposed to be centon. I only bought it because I"m short on ddr2 for the 3-4 systems that use it (actually only 2 are in use right now), and prices don't seem to be getting better. It was cheap too (just a single 2 gig stick).
So what I got had no marks that leed me to the brand (centon said that it is not their memory). cpuz didn't report anything for manufacture or part number (just blank).

I'm more just curious abut if anyone had seen such generic memory before. I'm waiting to hear back from the seller about it.

So here are the markings
bp ml e186014
94v-0
I found out that was the pcb manufacture, not who made the modules. I did find that corsair uses that same pcb but has corsair printed on it. On this one, it has b62u853 1.00 printed on the same spot corsair has its name printed (I'm guessing a generic part number for the pcb).

chips say
128x8ddr2 k
1014
and on the edge of the chip are 4 letters (different on each chip) such as jzxp, kfxh. There is no brand on the chip.

sticker on the front has a barcode, then 2g pc2-6400 udimm 2rx6, warranty void if removed.

sticker on the back says 2gb pc2-6400
then 10610--barcode--21

Thats it on the chips, stickers and pcb.

Any clues what it is (and has anyone seen such generic memory before)?

I'm almost wondering if this was someones b stock so they erased the name and model from the spd, and removed their brand sticker?

what i would be more worried about is the memory youve been sent is not what you ordered... dont waste any time finding out what it is, get it replaced before they accuse you of switching the memory

I already complained.

I complained to them the same day I got it. They are supposed to get with their sales team and get back to me. I was more just curious if anyone had ever seen memory like this with no useful identifying marks and no spd info?

yea it happens, sometimes you'll see it pop up in 3rd party "custom" pcs from small builders, or some of those generic netbooks from brands based in China. I've even seen this kind of generic ram tossed in servers and big security-based DVR systems.

It's not really an issue most of the time, DRAM manufacturing is at a point where production can often exceed demand and even perfect chips get sold as b-grade. It used to be b-grade was just that, memory that was considered too unstable or unable to operate within the defined parameters of that production cycle. So they would take the b-grade chips and sell them off to small companies who in turn used on these generic sticks of ram, or popped them in ipod clones, set top boxes, or what ever.

Like bob, I would be more concerned with paying for a name brand and receiving the generic stuff. The generic stuff is usually no more likely to fault than the name brand provided you run them within their specifications.

The price was cheap (acceptable for generic if they work). As far as being promised brand name modules, I have had several correspondences with them and I'm just getting the run around. I'm waiting to see what their next response is, not to mention how they respond to people that bought on ebay, that were promised centon and got generic. This was a posted deal so there are others involved (and some got centon memory but some got generic).
I only bought one module as it was an unknown seller so its not a lot of money. They will of course get bad reseller ratings (which apparently they care about), and bad google checkout ratings (already done). When I started reading the few bad reviews on reseller ratings (things like tried to withhold my refund till I changed my reseller rating), and some return horror stories, I think I would be better off keeping the stick if it works (a couple of days memtest I guess).
