Underclocking DDR2 to run with Mobo

Hello, I recently purchased the Abit IP35-E motherboard.


Frustratingly, I didn't catch that the supported ram type is DDR2-800.

But I bought some Kingston HyperX DDR2-1066


Now, my question is: Is there any way to make these work with my motherboard? Perhaps underclock the ram and run them at DDR2 speeds? Or overclock the rest of the system alongside of them?

Change the Memory divider to 1:2, and your ram will run 1066 along side the CPU without overclocking... Otherwise, it would just run at 800 by default, IIRC... Also, 1066 modules are typically just overclocked 800 modules - so you may have to give it more voltage than the default - as much as 2.1v-2.2v sometimes instead of 1.8v...
