System Not Booting (SDRAM and DDR1)
Hi all,
I was recently trying to upgrade an old computer and bought 2x 256mb DDR (168 pin if I remember correctly) and 2x 512mb SDRAM (184 pin) and installed them into my motherboard. Upon starting, the system simply won't boot. If I remove one memory module from either the SDRAM or DDR banks, the system will boot but it refuses to recognize the SDRAM. Is my motherboard restricting me to use only one type of memory? You can view my computer configuration at the link below, but it is a Pentium 4 setup with an ECS P4S5A/DX+ motherboard. All memory modules have been tested individually and register with the Windows XP.
Link to hardware specs (first post, forum won't let me make it a url): home1.stofanet.dk/andrew/misc/spec.html
Any help or insights would be much appreciated!
Andrew
EDIT: I should add that when I attempt to boot with all four modules inserted, there are no beep codes, the monitor simply stays black and there is no apparent disc activity.
