Do I have to make some adjustments when putting new memory sticks?

Do I have to make some adjustments when putting new memory sticks?
I putted 2 sticks of ddr 400 which by it`s spec should work with my mobo (abit as8)
And it doesn’t work, tried with and without the older sticks.
The old one worked on cl3, although potentially they are cl2.
And the new one are also potentially cl2.
Both are corsair ddr 400.

If you put just the older sticks in, it works fine?

They are DDR RAM, not DDR2?

That ABit board, if I am not mistaken, is an Intel socket 775, correct? I don't think you need registered memory for it, but I am not an expert in that.

they are ddr1 ,pc 3200.
my procesor is p-4.
maybe there are different ram types for intel and amd?
i don`t think so.
it is only that those moduls are not competible with my board (which is strange) or they are out of order.

Either or, time to return them.

Be sure to get validation from your dealer that the memory you are ordering will work with your motherboard.
