Buying RAM

I'm about to buy a stick of RAM. Weird thing - When I look up on Ebay the the specific type of RAM for my laptop, at least 4 different sticks pop up. The model number, size and type are identical, but they differ in appearance and the price ranges from 20 to 50 dollars. Doesnt really make sense to me.

Increasing RAM can be the single easiest way to improve the performance of your PC. These instructions apply to adding RAM to your existing PC or buying RAM for a home-built computer.
1. Save money buying online, directly from the manufacturer or select an online vendor that provides manufacturer-direct offerings.
2. Pay attention to the number of slots and banks of memory your PC has. If you have banks of 1, then each of your memory card can have a different capacity. But if you have banks of 2 or more, all cards in each bank must be the same size.
3. Consider buying the most RAM memory you can afford, as this will maximize the performance of your computer.

Go to crucial.com and search for your motherboard/system by manufacturer and it will show you the memory that is compatible with your system.

Hi

Not too long ago, a memory upgrade was one of the most effective, easiest ways to boost your PD's performance. High memory prices meant that new machines often shipped with the bare minimum, yet everything from multi- tasking to gaming lapped it up.

Buying RAM

I think the price depends on the quality of the product, they can be of same speed, same memory but the inner quality depends the price of a product.

It is depend upon your systems, which RAM is supportable. If you have any confusion and query contact computer hardware expert. They guide you well.

It is simple to perform good in computer, just increase the RAM first, and change to EDO-RAM, SDRAM or DDR-SDRAM.

Try going into BIOS settings there is usually the memory type which has been detected listed there.
