I'm sorry, I started a thread in the storage devices section thinking I had a corrupted Hard-drive, but now i'm pretty sure it's my memory.
here's a link to it http://www.devhardware.com/forums/storage-devices-80/corrupted-hd-185350.html
I finished a Zero fill, tried to reinstall XP first. Was going to do a multi-partition xp/vista set-up, but XP couldn't even copy the files needed to install, kept saying both that XP installtion CD could be faulty and that the format on my HD wasn't a proper windows format. So I say "fine," and i delete the partition i created, and let the windows software create on itself, and I got the same error, even with it's own.
Tried install Vista (no multi-partition), and I got the same error I was getting before. "An unexpected error has occurred. Verify that the installation sources are accessible... error code: 0xC0000005"
Now it didn't take much google time to find out that 0xC0000005 is very bad... usually found at the bottom of a BSOD message. So... if i program a flashkey to do a memory test, will it accurately diagnose faulty memory over a faulty motherboard? This ram has been so immaculate, and was hella expensive when I bought it. I'd be very disappointed if it was faulty.
EDIT: Also the BSOD I was getting before I zero-filled the drive was a stop 0x0000001a if that means anything to anyone
update: so i tried installing windows with just one stick in, just to see what would happen. One stick and the thing just does nothing, no bootup screen, just a black screen with a blinking cursor. The other stick, and when i "press any key to boot from cd" i get the windows boot-up manager, telling me windows failed to boot, possibly to a recent hardware change, and to use the windows CD to repair, WHEN I HAVEN'T EVEN INSTALLED IT YET!!
