One thing about the S3 that bugs me, is every so often if you are using it, a tiny little picture of an EYE will appear on the notification bar. My friend kept saying how weirded out he was by it. Turns out it is an EYEBALL tracking feature, it looks at your face, trying to determine if your eyes are looking at the phone, so it doesn't turn off the screen.
Bugs the SHIT out of me.

Good apps that I use day to day are Tinfoil for Facebook. It creates a sandboxed cache of the mobile version of Facebooks site. Their app requires a lot of permissions that I am not comfortable with.
Ingress if you can get an invite, its an awesome GPS game.
Reddit is Fun
Radiant is a fun game.
I would spend the few bucks and get the premium clockworkmod. It's great for flashing roms.

Not sure which games are available for you. I tend to like simple to play or mind challenge games.
I play Angry Birds, Fling, Tetra3D, Coin Dozer and Sudoku. There are free versions to get started and if you really want to play them more there are paid versions.

I used to use an iPhone 3Gs a while back and it was pretty great, but I've since switch to a windows phone.
First it was the samsung focus, which I used for about two years. Now I'm using a Lumia 920, which is massive, heavy, and pretty sweet.
I've tried using an iPhone after using the windows phone, and it just isn't useful to me anymore. Having the ability to read DRM'd email and simple OS level integration with Xbox Live makes it much more useful to me.
People usually complain about lack of apps, but in reality the apple store has a ton of garbage apps that I would never use anyway. I pretty much use my phone to make calls, text, and take pictures.

HTC One V @ 2GHz in use with 1.475mV, 245MHz when idling with 900mV. 4.1.2 JB. more than enough for me.

Just went from HTC Sensation back to HTC desire HD.
Actually Sensation is much more powerfull dual core 1.2 GHz vs single core 1GHz, more RAM, bettre GPU etc ... but.
In real life, with good ROM (switched back to revolution HD which is 2.3.5 with sense 3.5) there is no difference.
I used Sensation with CM10.1, and tried DHD with 10.1 and there is no difference.
I prefer few milimeters wider LCD from DHD and like its design
Decided to go back to 2.3.5 because of Sense. I would not like to have phone without it and ICS with Sense are too laggy.
Currently I am running eng s-off, revolution HD 7.2, go louncher, 1.5 GHz, some 150 apps (cca 800 MB of internal memory).
Ah, just to mention, I installed Ubuntu touch developer preview.
I was impressed.
