I was like that once too. I think can handle it :-)
If all else fails, I'll just start complaining how the original TIE fighter still was the best game, how Empire is so much better than Jedi and how Lucas ruined it all with Jar Jar Binks. Side note: How to determine a Star Wars fan's age: When you were young, did you fantasize about Princess Leia, or Princess Amidala? (Females: substitute Han Solo/Anakin Skywalker) |

Talking about not finishing reading a book...
I have been reading a book by Lyndon Hardy called Riddle of the Seven Realms (book 3) for about 3years now, I just pick it up occasionally read a few chapters and put it away again. Thing is I read book 1 and 2 in a weekend years back.

Reading Cyteen by C.J. Cherryh; one of my favorite authors. Just recently found a sequel to this, so I am reading the first prior to acquiring the second (actually the first is a trilogy, but I have all three in one book in e-form).
I am also in the process of translating her Foreigner books from .pdf to .pdb for reading on my PDA. What sucks is that the program I am using isn't rendering the italic font and quite a bit of the story hinges on th strategic use of italics. Maybe I could change fonts in the .pdf file... make it more readable? ![]() |

Just started to finally read Lee Strobel's The Case for Christ, after a conversation with Nilpo last night.
Been meaning to read it for some time after he spoke at our church. Time to buckle down.

I'm still working on Heinlein. Finished Number Of The Beast, then
Revolt In 2100 Methuselah's Children Farmer In The Sky Time For The Stars Now reading The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress. There seems to be a pattern here: It starts with a reasonable story then - discontinuity - something happens that challenges imagination. Farmer In The Sky was a good, simple, science fiction story about terraforming a moon of Jupiter until the protagonist finds alien farming machinery in a crystal cave . The book ends only a few pages after that. Time For The Stars made hypothetical fictional sense with its separated twin telepaths communicating instantaneously across light years, until the "irrelevancy drive" is introduced. Apparently the proof that telepaths could communicate instantaneously over such large distances made physicists work out new laws that made instantaneous travel possible. It really was a good story up until that point. Methuselah's Children turns out to be the most readable and reasonable of this group. My intermediate conclusion is that Heinlein's writings are like life itself: they don't make any sense except for occasional bits that make them worth the insanity. Ben N1NP

to keep the ball rolling, I am currently reading Born to Run by Christopher McDougall. I'm only about a third of the way through at this point so I'll save the summaries for another day, but you can find out more from the usual sources, Amazon included.
