Seriously. I looked up the RAM I bought in June, it's now $15 higher. I paid 2.719 for gas today. I keep track of all my gas fillups, I haven't paid this much since mid-July. My previous fill up was at 2.449 a gallon.

Probably due to windows 7 coming out. Think about what Vista did to computers, people are probably freaking out about 7 needing even more. Plus DDR2 is on the wlay out, so it might be getting to the point where it's the cheapest to make right now and manufactures are gearing up for DDR3, or xmas is around the corner.
Gas, I'd say look at oil prices, but the gas stations never reflect the real price. Between my friend who works for an oil refining company, and me, we can't figure out why it was so high. it costs 40 cents a gallon to refine it.

I doubt it's windows 7. It's been happening slowly over the past months.
It's not because it's on it's way out either, it's still widely used in rigs, and the prices should be staying low, not hiking up to the level of where it's almost equal with it's successor.

RAM prices increasing with a low demand isn't rocket science. Suppliers want to make a profit, so supplying less for the same price would eat into their profits.
When a supplier comes into the market and is supplying less product, they are going to be charging more to cover their costs. Pure economics.
