Opening a restaurant can satisfy your both desires. Choose your own architecture for the place, and be the head chef.

Not to be a dick but why does this thread need to go off topic?
mphill and cody_e could you kindly take your shit some place else. You both are trolling this thread for no reason, it's in the local pub if you have nothing to add just move the fuck on. I'm tired of you two starting arguments for no reason in areas where they aren't needed.
That is why there is a flame forum, go in their and start another one of your political threads about whatever you two want it to be about.
Some people are enjoying talking with other vegetarians and vegans, and talking about food in general. The last thing we want is you two trolling in here with your endless arguments.
In any case the ignore list comes in very handy, but when other people have to reply to your BS it takes away from the actual thread.
Last night I took my wife out for dinner in the city at one of those places that only cooks with organic food and it had a lot of vegetarian dishes for her birthday. She got a tofu dish and I noticed every time we go out to eat tofu taste like crap. It's always very rubber and doesn't have a done of flavor. When she cooks tofu it's nice and soft with a lot of flavor. She thinks it's because they don't want it to fall apart for the presentation or whatever. Has anyone else had this experience? It was an expensive place and to me the tofu taste the same as a $5 from the local Chinese place.

i can't believe you are dumb enough to make that comment to ME of all people. and join the navy for their FOOD??? wtf are you smoking?
Anyway, I made some awesome guacamole just a few minutes ago. Its one of my favorite things to make; easy and i make it very well
I use:
1 avocado
1 crushed garlic (not a whole clove, just one piece of a clove)
About a handful of cilantro, finely chopped
Medium handful of diced red onion
some fresh ground pepper
a teaspoon of olive oil
salt
1/6 of an orange, squeezed into the mixture
1/2 a lime, squeezed
Then I blend it all together until its smooth, but not so smooth as to be a puree
The trick is to have the avocados be perfect - if they are overripe and have black spots its no good, and if it is not ripe enough the flavor is wrong.

1. It's healthy
2. It's a cheap source of protein
3. It tastes good
4. Nothing had to die for it
(Moral veggies will usually give you the 4th answer, health veggies will give you 1 or 2, weird people will give you 3)

And what you too good to serve our country? Consider it.
There are other ways to serve your country besides partaking in an institution of death and destruction. Do I consider myself to good to kill people? Yes. I would hope that I have enough goodness inside me that killing and destroying for money will never be an attractive option.

1&2) You really have to be looking for the proper supplements, like vitamin B12, and some vegetarians things can be just as unhealthy as meat (fried stuff)
3) Steak.
4) Plants are living organisms too, no one can live without killing something.

actually Level 5 Vegans won't eat anything that casts a shaddow... .
plants may be living organisms, but they poses no neural/sensory networks, no muscular systems. they are allive, but they don't live... if you get what I mean.
some veggies, like my dad for instance, just won't eat mammals (except when there's nothing else available than horse stew in an Alpin hut of course ).
and Marmite is an EXCELLENT source of vitamin B12 . which reminds me, lunch time. mmm, buttered toast and Marmite .
